Andi and Taffy -- Let the Adventure Begin!

"Is it time to read our chapters yet, Mom?" And so began our journey with Andi and Taffy.

PhotobucketThe Princess loves horses -- she and the High School Junior are actually plotting right now to buy a horse together.  She has also learned to read all by herself this year -- and the Andi and Taffy Chapter Books were just perfect for her.  Set in 1834, the Circle C Beginnings books tell the story of a little girl named Andi and her special horse, Taffy.

Published by Kregel PublicationsAndi's Scary School Days is written with 6 - 8 years old in mind, but can be enjoyed by children (and adults!) of all ages.  An excellent "first" chapter book, my ten-year-old Princess loved reading all 74 pages and truly couldn't wait to start the next chapter to see what was going to happen.  I was delighted by the story myself.  The FREE coloring and activity pages that were available were a super bonus.  The older siblings even requested to color some of the pages, too.
The Princess says "Andi's Scary School Days is a very good book.  There are some funny parts and some very serious parts.  The funniest part was when Andi was hiding and thought that no one could find her.  Her brother comes up behind her though and finds her!  I really laughed when I read that.   A very serious part of the book was when Andi "sneaked" away from school.  She didn't want to answer to anyone, but she learned that she had too.  Andi was scared of school at first -- and didn't want to be away from home -- but she found out that school could be fun."

There are currently four books in the Circle C Beginnings Series and two more are planned for release in August.  The Princess has requested that we buy them ALL for her -- and at the great price of only $4.99 each, I am planning to get them for summer reading.  You can order the books individually or in bundles HERE and even request an autographed copy from the author, Susan K. Marlow.  You can also order the books from Kregel Publications,  Amazon, or Christian Book Distributors.

You can read an excerpt of Andi's Scary School Days HERE and check out the FREE coloring pages and activity sheets that go along with the book HERE. I would also encourage you to peruse the website to check out the new books that are coming in August as well as see ALL of the coloring  and activity pages available.  There are also lapbooks that can be ordered to go along with each of the books and you can e-mail the author with any questions you might have.    Make sure to spend a bit of time here and see just how much fun Circle C Ranch can be!

~~I was given the opportunity to use and review Andi's Scary School Days published by Kregel Publications as a member of the TOS Homeschool Crew.  The opinions stated are mine and mine alone.  I was not paid to share my thoughts and feelings with you.  I encourage you to check out the Crew Review and see what other members of the TOS Homeschool Crew thought of  Andi's Scary School Days or some of the other Circle C Beginnings books  HERE.~~ Pin It Now!

  1. Thanks so much for your enthusiastic review of Scary School Days. I especially enjoyed reading your DD's take. It's always fun to read what kids think about the book targeted to them. :-)

Say, how did you get that "Facebook comments" option here? Is it a WordPress option? I have my blog networked, but not in this way.

    Thanks again!

  2. I just saw this is an HSB blog. Now I'm really curious about your FB "connection." I was on HSB for a long time, but since Word Press, I just can't figure that thing out. I prefer (now) my Blogspot blog.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your heart with me!
