FAVORITE FOODS -- July Blog Challenge #bloggingthroughJuly #summerchallenge

I think I should start by saying that most anything that I don't have to cook would definitely make it onto my favorite foods list.  Can you relate?  My mom says that when I was a baby, my favorite food was beets.  Right out of the baby food jar.  I obviously can't remember that, but . . . yuck.  Why in the world would my mom even feed me beets?  I can't even imagine.

As a child, my favorite food was strawberries.  The only problem with strawberries is that they made me break out into strawberry-colored whelps.  They are still on my list of favorites, though, and they still make me itch and whelp sometimes, but I sure do love them.

Other foods that make my stomach smile are:

  • Chicken and Dumplings (my mother-in-love makes the best and even made them without chicken for me when I was pregnant and requested it them that way)
  • Watermelon
  • Chicken and Rice Casserole -- this is the crockpot version of my favorite comfort food
  • Strawberries
  • Potato Soup -- we make several varieties of Potato Soup, but this one is my favorite
  • Red Velvet Cake
  • Cheesecake
  • Salad -- I love a good salad.  Especially with a vinaigrette dressing and black pepper
  • Spaghetti
  • BREAD!  I prefer bread over dessert any day of the week

Okay, now it's your turn.  Tell me a few of your favorite foods -- and feel free to share your recipes.  I'm always looking to add something new to our menu.

  1. Ah, Lynn. I love beets. :) I know, many people don't (including a few of my kids). Isn't it funny how, some foods that we may be sensitive or allergic to, but love, we'll put up with the consequences anyway? I have to be careful with mushrooms...and chocolate!

  2. Funny! Anyone else cooking and it taste much better than when I make it. Maybe it's just the company and food combo.
