Under GOD's Stars -- Celestial Almanack

Are you a professional star-gazer?  Or maybe you just want to be? Can you stand outside on a clear night and identify the constellations?  Would you like to learn how to find them and make your study of the heavens mean even more?

We're studying Astronomy this year and really, REALLY liking it! How cool that right in the middle of our studies of this great big, beautiful Solar System that GOD created and designed for us, we would be chosen to review the Celestial Almanack, Vol. 1, No. 2 (February 2012) published by Fourth Day Press{GOD never ceases to amaze me with how perfect HIS timing is!}

I am so very excited to share this beautiful Almanack with you! We've so enjoyed studying it's gorgeous pages -- but more than that, we've enjoyed taking our learning on a field trip outdoors! The Celestial Almanack is an "illustrated guide to learning the night sky" and we've certainly enjoyed the hands-on (or actually the eyes-on) fun that it has provided for us.

Now, you know how much my sweet MainMost enjoys looking at all things in the night sky.  We're quick to throw blankets in the truck, fix a thermos of hot chocolate and head out to the country so that we can see meteor showers, lunar eclipses and the like.  If something big is supposed to happen in the night sky, he usually knows about it and plans a family outing so that the kids and I can make sure to see it all!  We've gotten the children up at all hours of the late night and early morning to pile on top of the trampoline to see GOD's fireworks show as well.

2012 will see some AMAZING things happening in the night sky and the Celestial Almanack will be sharing them ALL!  We serve a VERY BIG GOD who has some pretty nifty things to share with us!  The Celestial Almanack pulls them all together in an easy-to-read e-book and tells you just how to go outside and see them with your very own eyes.  VERY reader-friendly, the Celestial Almanack makes finding the constellations and night sky events as easy as can be -- and that's because Jay Ryan (the editor of the Celestial Almanack) is passionate about making sure that we all get outside and check out the skies -- the same sun, moon and stars that GOD created in the beginning! Here's what he has to say:   I'm absolutely frantic about trying to make sure that every single American, besides homeschoolers, finds out about these events and how to observe them!

You can pick up your own copy of the Celestial Almanack for February (and every other month, too!) over at CurrClick for only $3.00. We printed our Almanack and slipped the pages into clear protective sheets in a 3-ring binder.  We've enjoyed reading through the pages in our Astronomy class during the day and taking it outside to find stars at night.  Right now we're enjoying a beautiful full moon with a ring all the way around it -- and Celestial Almanack was the jump-start to all of our fun.
