We haven't studied much American History in our homeschool yet, and to be honest, I HATED history before I started teaching it in my own home. ;-) So honestly I don't even know what my choices are for "periods of American History," but I enjoy doing and learning the homemaking and homesteading type activities like making our own butter and cooling down the house without electricity. :)
