Field Trip to the Capital: State Government in Action

Yesterday was a beautiful day and we headed out in the wee hours of the morning (okay, so it was only 6 a.m. but it was dark outside) to visit our State Capital and get a first-hand look of how our government works.  We started with a guided tour of the New Capital, sat in on a legislative session in the House of Representatives, met our Governor, and took a walk to the Governor's Mansion.  An added bonus was meeting Miss Mississippi -- she was being recognized for her service to our State.  It was a wonderful day and we plan to return soon to visit the Old Capital and tour the Governor's Mansion.

It was a good day of being together and hanging out with our friends.  I can't wait until our next Field Trip together.
