Scruble Cube

Photobucket

I think my word game addiction started years ago when I was a little girl watching my great-grandmother fill in the crossword puzzle each week in the newspaper.  Grandma Bonnie was a word master!  Although crossword puzzles were too difficult for me at the time, I learned to enjoy word search puzzles and she would buy the books for me as a special treat (always LARGE print, because that's what SHE could  see!).   We would sit together propped up with feather pillows on her big bed -- completing our respective word games, talking, and just spending time together.

A few years ago, the MainMost and I started playing Scrabble with each other through FaceBook -- both holding laptops in our laps, propped up on our bed strategically placing word tiles.  We are both VERY COMPETITIVE but enjoyed talking and spending time together.  We moved from Scrabble to Words With Friends on our phones and I am completely hooked.  {I even designed a ministry t-shirt this summer that had a word game board with tiles on the back.  It's probably my favorite t-shirt ever!} I currently have a dozen games going with various friends and family members and I can't get enough!

~~Did I mention I was addicted to word games?~~

PhotobucketAND NOW I have a NEW word game to play!  If you like word games like Scrabble and Words with Friends AND you enjoy the challenge of a Rubik's Cube, then you have simply got to get a SCRUBLE Cube™ into your hands!  It is a neat combination of the two games -- a word game in multi-dimensions!  The website actually says it is

a word game and puzzle on steroids! And I have to agree!

SCRUBLE Cube™ has quickly become a family favorite.  My 10-, 12-, 15- and 17-year-olds agree it's a "cool game" to play.  On our recent beach vacation, it was easy to throw in the bag and take along.  The kids challenged each other to see who could make the word worth the most points as we traveled and have continued to use it every day since we've come home.

An award winning game, the box says that it is for ages 8 & up, but I say SCRUBLE Cube™ can be played by anyone who can spell -- and is helpful for anyone learning to spell! A 3D word game for 1 to 4 players, it comes with a timer and score pad to make for challenging play.  (We've actually played with the whole family of 6 with no problems at all!) Players twist the cube to make words and add up the points on each square with bonus points given for longer words and words connected to the previous players word.

Check out this cool video and see for yourself how it really works:
