Holy Roar CD {Review & Giveaway} #HolyRoar #FlyBy

I met Chris Tomlin almost 16 years ago when I took a group of high school girls to summer camp in Shocco Springs, AL.  It was only our second camp as a student ministry and he was the camp worship leader that week.  We had never heard of Chris Tomlin before, but that young kid led us right to the THRONE of grace as we poured out our hearts in worship.  We were packed into half of a gymnasium with about 400 other students and leaders, and our hearts cried out for JESUS.  All these years later and I still remember our hands lifted high as we sang together and felt Heaven rain down.  As a matter of fact, one of the "girls" that went to camp with me that year was visiting in my home this week and we talked about that experience at camp.  She's all grown up now -- a wife, a mom, my friend -- and we smiled as we reminisced the fact that Chris Tomlin was "just" this neat guy leading music at camp that summer and "Chris Tomlin" the next.  She shared, "you know, Lynn, I bought his CD that summer.  He only had one and it was brand new.  Who knew, huh?"  We had no idea what an up-and-coming Chris Tomlin was that week.  We only knew that he had a heart for worship and oh, how he shared it with us.

Fast forward to just last weekend when my copy of the new Holy Roar CD arrived in the mail.  I was so excited to get it and immediately unwrapped it and stuck it in the stereo in my vehicle as I headed out to attend my college Homecoming.  From the very first chords of the first song to the very last note of the last song, I was enveloped in the wonderful experience of worship.  Every single song is good and powerful.  I really wanted to tell you about my favorite song on the album, but each time I listen through it GOD touches my heart in a new way and I find myself singing along from a raw place deep inside my soul to a new "favorite song".  Truly my praise pours out with reckless abandon and I cannot help but feel renewed in the spirit.

Each and every song grabs me and I can't help but feel the presence of JESUS as I cry out to HIM. 

"Nobody loves me like YOU love me, JESUS.  I stand in awe of YOUR amazing ways . . . nobody loves me like YOU."  And I'm reminded to "count my blessings one by one because . . . in YOU I'm satisfied."

This album may very well be my favorite so far.  How can it not be when tears are streaming as I sing "I am undone, lost in YOUR glory.  Oh, how I love YOU.  Covered in grace, found in YOUR mercy.  Oh, how I love YOU."  I think it can't get any better and then the next song plays.  Oh, how sweet it is, how sweet it is to be loved by JESUS.  How sweet it is, how sweet it is, how sweet it is to be loved by YOU."

I love listening to this music so much.  A HOLY ROAR offers the freedom, the experience, the wonder of worship. It is seeing the church come together, hands lifted to GOD, pouring out our praise with an eternal song in our hearts.
