Unashamed: Healing Our Brokenness and Finding Freedom from Shame {Book Review & Giveaway} #un-ashamed #flyby

I set out a few years ago to purposefully look for specific ways to find JOY in my life.  After a rough few years personally and a period of what I can only describe as a deep sadness, I knew that I had to intentionally take hold of the HOPE that I have through JESUS.  It seemed I had forgotten exactly WHO I belonged to and just how much value HE put on me.

That's a hard place to land and it will drain the life out of a person.  For a girl who thought she had it all together (color-coded calendar and all) to realize that it only takes a moment for the world to come crashing down, the shame of failure will settle like a heavy blanket and make it difficult to walk in the ease of GRACE.  Just ask me how I know.

If you find yourself in a dark place, or if you just want to make sure you don't land there, the new book Unashamed: Healing Our Brokenness and Finding Freedom from Shame will help you re-kindle the LIGHT in your life.  Although not a "how-to" book, the pages of personal testimony complete with review questions for reflection and discussion, Scripture, and nurture will offer you a way out of despair through HOPE in JESUS as you are reminded that you absolutely do not have to live life on your own.  We do not have to hide in who we are or where we've been (shame) because GOD is with us every step of the way and HE loves us unconditionally.  HE has designed us for community and calls us to trust in HIM as we learn to walk in shame-free destiny.

Chapters included in the book are titled:

  1. Exchanging Shame for Beauty
  2. Living Shamelessly through Christ-Formed Community
  3. Clothed in Christ:  Body Shame
  4. United to Christ:  Social Shame
  5. Free in Christ:  Performance Shame
  6. Response to Shame
  7. Shame in Marriage
  8. Shame-Free Parenting
  9. Shame and the Church

This is some pretty powerful stuff.   Do yourself a favor and read this book.  Give yourself permission to live a life that is UNASHAMED.
