Passion's Salvation's Tide Is Rising CD {musicreview &giveaway} #passion2016 #PassionSTIR #flyby

Just one short week ago, I was there!  My first-ever PASSION experience was PHENOMENAL.  Actually, phenomenal doesn't even begin to describe it.  Standing in the middle of the Infinite Energy Arena in Gwinnett County, GA with hands lifted high and worshiping alongside 40,000 {mostly} college-aged students was unbelievable.  There were THREE arenas in THREE different locations all tied together via satellite as we sang praises to the ONE who makes our hearts beat,  Truly, it was an amazing sight.  As voices lifted in unison under the leadership of Chris Tomlin, Crowder, Matt Redman, Christy Nockels, Kristian Stanfill, Tedashi, Rend Collective, Lecrae, KB, TripLee, and the Passion Band, I knew in my heart that this must be what Heaven is like.    How exciting to be able to experience the new Passion album live and in person?  The different genres of music flowed beautifully together as our voices lifted in one accord.  It is well with my soul.
And as a result, I've entered this new year full of the PEACE that passes all understanding.

The SPIRIT of GOD moved over all of us.  The music offers an anthem of praise that takes me straight to the THRONE -- over and over and over.

While we were at Passion, the Salvation's Tide Is Rising album was released on iTunes and we were excited to watch it rise through the ranks on the charts.  One of the college kids who went with us was explaining to all of us on the church van that THE praise and worship music for the year would be what we would hear at the Conference.  It's the stuff we'll sing at summer camp and on mission trips and at DNow -- and we got to hear it first at Passion as we kicked off our new year in style.

I was there.
I was there for excellent teaching.
I was there for beautiful testimony of GOD's relentless LOVE.
I was there when 40,000 students were challenged to build a NICU hospital in Syria to the tune of $595,000 -- and raised over $735,000 instead.
I was there when three locations linked up LIVE with three sets of Christian rappers and brought the arenas to their feet in praise and adoration of the KING of KINGS and LORD of LORDS.

I was there.  And every time I turn on the Salvation's Tide Is Rising album, I am there again.

It is a good place.  A very good place.  And you can be there, too.

As far as the album goes, I'll let you in on my favorite way to listen to it.  I always begin with track 8, Crowder's All We Sinners.  The raw melody reminds me that I am loved by a mighty GOD.   It's hard to describe exactly what it does to me to sing that "all we sinners sang -- SAVED.  We are SAVED."

Every single song on this album is poignantly purposed to point us to the LOVE that is JESUS.  Wow!  I love singing of my surrender to HIM and lavishing praise on my good, good FATHER.  I enjoy moving from slow melody to fast-paced heartbeats and back again.

Rooted in the confession of Isaiah 26:8, Passion exists to glorify God by uniting students in worship, prayer and justice for spiritual awakening in this generation.  From its start in 1995, the Passion Movement has had a singular mission--calling students from campuses across the nation and around the world to live for what matters most.  This yearly conference uses live worship music and teaching to encourage young people to live for the glory of God.  In 1998, Passion decided to document the musical portion of the annual conferences via live worship recordings -- raw, in-your-face praise songs with an alternative edge.
