WHY DO YOU BLOG? -- July Blog Challenge #bloggingthroughJuly #summerchallenge

It's hard to believe that today ends the month of July.  Wow!  Can you believe we've blogged through the entire month together?  I've enjoyed the challenge and have learned a few things about myself.  How about you?

The final topic for the July Blog Challenge is "Why do you blog?" and I can't wait to read all of your posts.  Why do I blog?  To be honest, I began blogging so that I could try out for the Schoolhouse Review Crew.  My dear friend was a member of the Review Crew and shared that she thought I would enjoy it, too.  My very first blog post EVER was a mock review of a spelling curriculum that we had been using for years.  What a strange way to start a blog.  I've made some of the greatest friends ever through the Crew.  It has blessed me in more ways than I ever imagined.

My second blog post was titled "Hello World" and it was written as we celebrated Claire's Sweet Sixteen way back in 2010.  Since that time, I have posted 775 different snippets of life and it's kind of neat to read back through some of them.  I've been reading what I wrote and trying to catch a glimpse of my heart during those times.

I have changed a lot in how and what I share.  I have grown quite a bit.  I'm still not the blogger I want to be.  I have many friends who write beautiful words that fill me with a sense of peace and I long to be that blogger.  I don't know if I share enough or too much or if I'm as transparent as I should be.  I pray, though, that the words that flow off of my fingertips will be words that lift up and encourage and point others to CHRIST.

I share recipes and pictures and traditions and life through my blog and I hope that one day my children will read it and remember.  When I was younger, I wrote all of my thoughts and ideas into a journal and hid it away for my eyes only.  Now, I type my thoughts and dreams and ideas for all the world to see onto a little spot called This Day Has Great Potential.  It may not be the biggest or the best, but it's my little corner of the world where I can share my heart.
