Oh, boy howdy this summer is halfway over and I don't think I've even read one book.  There are several things on my "I should read" or "I want to read" list+, but it's been a busy few months and I'm not doing so well in the "I read" category.  That said, the next three weeks are a little bit less hectic and I'm hoping to complete a few books.

I find that I read in spurts.  I can read two or three books at a time and then it may be a month or more before I pick up another.  Then there are the books that I want to read with my kids -- books they need to read for upcoming literature courses and books that we need to read because we'll be seeing the plays this coming school year.  If at all possible, I like for us to read books before we see the play.
