memories at Christmas Lodge

Christmas is definitely one of my favorite times of the year and one of the ways I like to celebrate is by watching my favorite Christmas movies.  Last year, the MainMost added several old favorites to my collection and I've recently had the privilege of watching a new movie that we will certainly be watching year after year --

an uplifting story about the importance of faith, family and the true holiday spirit.

Christmas Lodge tells the story of  a family's quest to help restore a lodge that holds the dear memories of past Christmas celebrations.  Presented by Thomas Kinkade (Yes!  THE Thomas Kinkade of the beautiful "light"paintings)Christmas Lodge is a heart-warming, SUPER family-friendly movie that will help your family ring in the Christmas season.

Here's the synopsis:  During a weekend trip to the mountains, Mary (Erin Karpluk) finds herself at the now- dilapidated lodge where she spent the holidays with her family growing up.  She becomes determined to restore the building to its former glory.  Inspired by her grandfather Mary throws herself into the project, and during the process finds herself drawn to Jack (Michael Shanks), a handsome man who loves the lodge as much as she does.  Historically unlucky in love, this chance encounter allows Mary to renew her faith in life and discover her one true love.

My family enjoyed watching this movie together and I appreciated the fact that it was a movie we COULD watch together without any reservations whatsoever.  All of the characters were rooted in a love of JESUS and faith that HE will provide for our every need. I have to tell you how delighted we were when the main character, Mary, and her boyfriend checked into a hotel in the beginning of the movie and Mary handed him the key to HIS room and went off in search of HER room!  It was such a refreshing statement about the sanctity of marriage -- our entire family cheered!

There was absolutely nothing in this movie that we found objectionable.   The "G" rating was well-deserved.   This is a movie that I recommend for all ages to watch and enjoy.

Why don't you take a few moments and watch the Christmas Lodge Movie Trailer?  I think you'll find it a welcome addition to your family Christmas.

  1. We like to decorate our house for Christmas. Hubby has a collection of snow globes that come out only at this time of year.

I like making hand stamped cards to send out.

We try to choose at least one name from the Angel Tree, for whom to get a gift.

  6. Every Christmas morning, before gifts, we read the Christmas story from the Bible. Started when Amanda was a baby and now she and Daniel take turns reading it for us to the others.
On Christmas Eve we will read Christmas stories before sending everyone to bed.
